EPW - Patek Philippe, Genève, Chronometro Gondolo, 51mm, 18K gold OF original case with elegant blue enamel "A O" initials to rear, gold cuvette bearing signature ring and engraved "Fabricado expressamente para Gondolo & Labouriau Relojoeiros, Rio-De-Janeiro," "Dr Alvaro Ozorio De Almeida" and "Patek, Philippe & Cie Genève"marked white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement with moustache counterpoise, 20J, wolf's tooth winding, gilt mvt, s#132918 with matching serial number marked to cuvette signature ring. Gross weight of assembled watch 67.1 dwt (104.4 g). An excellent and elegant example with dial and case personalization for Dr. Alvaro Ozorio De Almeida who was an eminent Brazilian physiologist.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, strong gilt tone, fine scratch adjacent stem detent screw and few small fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere, few small areas of filing marks to center wheel, some bits of oxide to escape wheel jewel setting and to click spring; nearly flawless dial with only some subtle small bits of haze within surface glaze that are visible only at certain lighting angles; nearly mint hands; case shows little wear, mild dent to band at 4 causing flat spot with associated surface dings, engine turning detail strong to central portion of rear but reduced at shoulder with some small bits of full loss, rear enamel is fully present; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal with some glue excess around its seat.
